About Me
I’ve been teaching piano for over 15 years and have taught more than 150 students in that time. Alongside teaching, I’m active as a composer and recording artist. My music has been released on Sony Music, streamed over 6 million times on Spotify, and broadcast on BBC One, Sky, and Channel 4.
I was awarded Fourth Prize in the Oticons International Film Composer Competition, which was judged by Oscar-winning composers including Rachel Portman, Atticus Ross, and Stephen Warbeck. I have also performed at Highgrove (the private residence of King Charles III), as well as at festivals across the UK. I hold a BA in Music from Bristol University, where I majored in piano performance.
This blend of classical training, professional composition, and real-world performance experience allows me to support students whether they want steady enjoyment, exam success, or the challenge of advanced repertoire and original music-making.
Lesson Fees
- £60 per one-hour lesson (weekly students)
- Fortnightly and ad hoc lessons are available at higher rates
I also offer a free introductory consultation, so you can meet me, talk through your goals, and try a short session before committing to regular lessons.
Availability
Here are the lesson times I currently have available (exact timing may vary slightly depending on location):
- Mondays: 10.15am
- Tuesdays: 10.30am, 2.45pm
- Thursdays: 1.30pm, 4.15pm
- Fridays: 10.15am
Evening and weekend slots are almost always taken, and I keep a waiting list for these times in case a suitable opening becomes available. If none of the listed times work for you, please let me know the exact range of days and times that might suit you for a regular slot. I can then compare with my schedule and either see if it’s possible to fit you in, or add you to the waiting list so I can get back in touch if an appropriate time becomes available.
Payment
- Online bank transfer is the preferred method of payment.
- Paying one lesson at a time is fine (please put the date of the lesson in the reference box).
- Paying for a block of lessons, either in advance or in arrears, is also fine.
- Please keep a record of lessons taken. I also keep detailed records, and will periodically cross-reference lessons with payments received. If there’s ever a discrepancy, I’ll let you know.
- Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice are charged at half the fee.
Where Lessons Take Place
Most lessons are taught at your home in Cheltenham, which many families find most convenient and effective. Lessons at my own studio are also possible in some cases.
